Section 54 in The Medical Council Of India Regulations, 2000
54. Registrar .-A person appointed as Registrar shall retire from service on super-annuation on the afternoon of the last date of the month in which he attains the age of sixty years. Extension of service shall not be given in any circumstances except with the approval of the Central Government.
