Section 14 in The Puducherry Home Guards Act, 1965.
14. Home Guards not disqualified from election to State Legislature or local bodies.-
(1)A Home Guard shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of the State Legislature merely by reason of the fact that he is a Home Guard.(2)Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any other law for the time being in force, a Home Guard shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of any local authority merely by reason of the fact that he is a Home Guard.
