86. Admissions.
- Subject to the reservation policy of the State Government for the weaker sections of the society, admissions to all courses in the university departments, affiliated colleges and recognized institutions shall be made on the basis of competitive merit in accordance with the rules, if any, made by the State Government and published in the Official Gazette, or Ordinances made by the university:Provided that, where model rules have been framed by the State Government in the interest of students throughout the State, the university shall adopt the same and such rules shall be published by the university before the commencement of the academic session:Provided further that, having regard to the maintenance of discipline, the authority concerned shall have the power to refuse admission to a student, except at the entry point of any academic programme.
