23. Spread-over.
- The spread-over of an employee in a residential hotel, restaurant or eating house shall not exceed [twelve hours] [Substituted for the words 'fourteen hours' by Maharashtra 64 of 1977, Section 9.]:Provided that the [State] [This word was Substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government may increase the spread-over period subject to such conditions as it may impose on the days that may be notified under subsection (3) of section 19.
