(1)No person shall be appointed as Chief Inspector unless he holds a degree in mining engineering of an educational institution approved by the Central Government and also a First Class Manager's Certificate granted under regulation 11.(2)No person shall be appointed as an Inspector unless he holds a degree in mining engineering of an educational institution approved by the Central Government and also a First Class Manager's Certificate granted under regulation 11:Provided that -(i)in relation to electrical machinery installed in mines, a person holding a degree in electrical engineering of an educational institution approved by the Central Government may be so appointed;(ii)in relation to other machinery or mechanical appliances installed in mines, a person holding a degree in mechanical engineering of an educational institution approved by the Central Government may be so appointed, and(iii)in relation to the provisions of the Act and of the rules and regulations which relate to matters concerning the health and welfare of persons, a person holding a degree in Bachelor of Medicines and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) or such other qualification as may be prescribed, of an educational institution approved by the Central Government or a person holding such other qualifications as the Central Government may approve in this behalf, may be so appointed.
