*SHRI C. MAHENDRAN (POLLACHI) : Hon’ble Madam Speaker. Under the able guidance of Puratchithalaivi Amma, the broad gauge conversion work has been completed between Palani and Pollachi. Hon’ble Puratchithalaivi Amma has stressed the need for board gauge conversion of railway lines between Pollachi to Palakkadu and Pollachi to Pothanur. I urge the Hon’ble Railway Minister for early completion of the gauge conversion work. Tamil Nadu Government under the able guidance of Puratchithalaivi Amma has stressed the need for commencement of train services from Pollachi where broad gauge conversion work has been completed. Palaniandavar Express train operated from Palani to Chennai should be operated from Pollachi up to Chennai. New train service in the name Amma Express should ply between Pollachi and Chennai. A new train service, Aanamalai Express, should become operational from Pollachi to Bengaluru. Pollachi city has seen rapid developments during the rule of Hon’ble Puratchithalaivi Amma. In order to address the issue of traffic congestion in this Pollachi city, new train services should be commenced to provide better rail connectivity.
