(2)The rent so determined shall be commuted into cash in accordance with the prices notified by the [Board of Revenue] [The Board of Revenue was abolished by the Tamil Nadu Board of Revenue Abolition Act, 1980 (Tamil Nadu Act 36 of 1980). Ms. No. 2675, Revenue, dated the 1st December 1980.] and prevailing on the date on which the land revenue became payable:Provided that where no such price has been notified, the rent shall be commuted in accordance with the price which the District Collector may, after making such local enquiry as he deems fit, fix as the price prevailing on the date on which the land revenue became payable.
