Section 36(2)(a) in Punjab Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2014

(a)Observation Home:
(i)separate observation homes for girls and boys; and
(ii)classification and segregation of juveniles according to their age group preferably seven years to eleven years, twelve years to sixteen years and seventeen years to eighteen years, giving due consideration to physical and mental status and the nature of the offence committed.
