Section 6(1) in The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda Act, 1949
(1)No person shall be excluded from any office of the University or from membership of any of its authorities or from admission to any degree, diploma, [**] [The word 'title' was deleted by Bombay 52 of 1950, Section 4 (i).] or other academic distinction or course of study [in the University, affiliated colleges or recognised institutions] [These words were inserted, by Bombay 52 of 1950, Section 4 (i).] on the sole ground of sex, race, creed, class, religious belief or political or other opinion :Provided that, the University may, subject to the previous sanction of the Government, maintain, affiliate or recognize any institution exclusively for women or reserve for women places for the purposes of admission as students in any institution maintained by the University.
