Section 84(1) in The Indian Port Health Rules, 1955
(1)The Health Officer may disinfect or in special cases, for reasons to be recorded in writing, remove foodstuffs or beverage on board a ship if he has reason to believe that they may have become contaminated by the infection of a quarantinable disease or may serve as a vehicle for the spread of any such disease. If any such foodstuffs or beverage is removed from the ship, the Health Officer shall make arrangements for its safe disposal.
