Section 124(1) in The Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Third Grade Municipalities, Municipalities and Corporations (Elections) Rules, 2006
(1)At the time of presentation of the petition, the petitioner shall deposit with the Election Court rupees two thousand five hundred in cash as security for the costs of the same. During the course of the trial of an election petition, the Election Court may, at any time, call upon the petitioner to give such further security for costs as it may direct. It may also call upon the petitioner to execute a bond for such amount and with such securities as it may require for the payment of any further cost.
