(1)If the Chief Officer of a Municipality is of the opinion that the clearing or disinfections of any building or any part thereof in the municipal area or of any article in such building or part thereof, which are likely to retain infection, or the renewal of plastering of the walls thereof or the disinfection of any tank, pool or well, adjacent to a building would tend to prevent or check the spread of any dangerous disease, he may by notice require the owner or occupier to cleanse and disinfect such building or part thereof or article or tank, pool or well or to renew such flooring and, if necessary such plastering also within such time, as may be specified in the notice.
