32. Nurses or midwives not registered under this Act not to practise.
(1)No person other than a [nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife, health visitor or dhai] [Substituted by Act 14 of 1964.] registered under this Act shall practice or hold himself out either directly or by implication as a practising [nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife, health visitor or dhai] [Substituted by Act 14 of 1964.] Provided that the Government may, from time to time, by notification in the Gazette direct that this section shall not apply to any person or class of persons or in any specified area for a specified period:Provided further that his section shall not apply to a person eligible for registration under this Act who after having filed the application for registration under this Act is awaiting the decision of the Council or of the Government in case of appeal:Provided also that this section shall not apply to a person eligible for registration under this Act, until the period prescribed for application under section 20 expires.(2)Whoever contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be punishable with fine which may extend to fifty rupees.
