(1)When a President,-(a)resigns his office under section 43; or(b)is removed from his office by a motion of no-confidence under section 44; or(c)is removed from his office by the Government under Section 46,a fresh election shall be held to fill up the vacancy within a period of fifteen days from the date of occurrence of the vacancy and the President so elected, shall hold office only so long as the President in whose place he is elected, would have held, had the vacancy not occurred :Provided that if the vacancy so caused is a vacancy in the office of the President, reserved for the Scheduled Castes or Backward Classes or Women under section 59, the person to fill the vacancy shall belong to the Scheduled Castes or Backward Classes or shall be a woman, as the case may be.
