- All officers of a prison shall obey the directions of the Superintendent; all offices subordinate to the Deputy Superintendent shall perform such duties as may be imposed on them by the Deputy Superintendent with the sanction of the Superintendent or be prescribed by the rules under section 59 of the Prisons Act, 1894.
