Section 14 in The Nirma University of Science and Technology Act, 2003
14. Academic Council.
(1)The Academic Council of the University shall consist of the following members, namely :-(i)the Director of the University, ex-officio, who shall be the Chairman of the Academic Council;(ii)two academicians or professionals, to be nominated by the Board;(iii)two external academicians or professionals in the area of science and technology, to be nominated by the Director;(iv)two Deans of the University by rotation to be nominated by the Director;(v)one Professor from each discipline of the University, by rotation to be nominated by the Director; and(vi)the Executive Registrar who shall be the non-member Secretary of the Council.(2)The term of office of the members other than the ex-officio member shall be three years.
