Section 197(1) in Goa Prisons Rules, 2006

(1)Custody of keys of barracks etc.- After the prisoners are counted and the prison is locked up in the evening, the keys of the barracks and cells shall be collected, verified and counted by the Jailor. They shall then be kept in the key box affixed to the wall between the main gates of the prison. The key box shall be locked and sealed with the Superintendent's seal. The key of the box together with the keys of the wickets of the inner and outer gates shall be entrusted to the Head Guard on night duty.
