Section 11B(2)(b) in Indian Lunacy Act, 1912

(b)the functions of the Magistrate shall be performed by such officer as the [State Government] [Substituted by A. L. O., 1950.] may, by general or special order, appoint in this behalf, and such officer shall be deemed to be the Magistrate having jurisdiction over the alleged lunatic for all the purposes of the said provisions;
