Section 12(2) in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
(2)The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely :(a)The Vice-Chancellor - Ex-officio Chairman ;(b)The Deans of the various Faculties ;(c)The Director of Research ;(d)The Director of Extension ;(e)The Director of Student Affairs ;(f)The Head of one Department from each College to be selected by the respective Colleges in the manner prescribed ;(g)The Registrar - Ex-officio Secretary ;(h)The Director of Colleges of Basic Sciences and Humanities ;(i)The Chief Librarian ;(j)The Dean of Post-Graduate Studies ;(k)Such other members as may be prescribed ; and(l)Two members shall be co-opted by he Academic Council to secure adequate representation of different fields of Agriculture.
