Section 95(95)(iv) in The Railway Protection Force Rules, 1987

(iv)Officers appointed on promotion as Assistant Commandant against thequota of vacancies reserved for them shall be placed below or above aparticular batch or direct recruits accordingly as their dates for incrementsin time scale are earlier or later than the earliest date on which any one of the direct recruits in a particular batch joined service.
