Section 14(1) in Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Act, 2005
(1)The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Board from amongst the distinguished veterinarians in the prescribed manner :Provided that where the members of the Board are not unanimous with regard to the selection of the person, proposed to be appointed as the Vice- Chancellor, the appointment, shall be made by the Chancellor :Provided further that the first Vice-Chancellor of the University shall be the Secretary, Animal Husbandry of the State Government. He shall hold charge till the University starts functioning smoothly or till the Board appoints a regular Vice-Chancellor.
