Section 2(2) in The United Provinces Minor Irrigation Works Act, 1920
(2)"Minor Irrigation Work" or "work" means an irrigation, submersion, drainage or protective work or system of such works, natural or artificial, of which the construction or maintenance by the [State Government] [Substituted by A.O.1950.] appears to that Government to call for action on a smaller scale than that contemplated by the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873 (Act No. VIII of 1873);
