SURYA KANT, J. [ORAL] The petitioner while seeking quashing of the result of the preliminary examination held for recruitment to Punjab Civil Services [Judicial Branch] Examination, 2010, also seeks a direction for providing reservation to the wards of the Freedom Fighters.
The petitioner was permitted to appear in the main written examination under the interim directions issued by this Court, though it was directed that his result shall not be declared.
In order to find out as to whether the contention raised by the petitioner still survives on merits, I directed the In-charge, Recruitment Cell, High Court to produce the result of the petitioner in a confidential cover. The same has been produced, seen and returned. The contention raised on behalf of the petitioner has been rendered academic as no effective relief can be granted to him at this stage as he has failed in the written test.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of as having been rendered infructuous leaving it open for the petitioner or any other candidate to seek adequate representation for the wards of the freedom fighters in future and as per the reservation policy.
Disposed of. Dasti.
