(1)With effect from such date{4th July, 1966; vide Notification No.G.S.R..1065, dated 2-7-1966, Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Pt.II, Sec.3(i), p.504} as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, there shall be established a Council by the name of the Press Council of India(2)The said Council shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall by the said name sue and be sued.
