Regarding Railway Insfrastructure In Koraput, Odisha. on 1 July, 2019
Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding railway insfrastructure in Koraput, Odisha.
SHRI SAPTAGIRI SANKAR ULAKA (KORAPUT): Sir, I would like to highlight some of the key issues of my Constituency. In Rayagada, we need a new inter-city train from Jeypore to Bhubaneswar. This is the demand of the people for a very long time.
Secondly, the new railway project from Gunupur to Therubali via Bissam Cuttack is not in place. No accommodation has been done in budget. This is one more key issue for the people of Rayagada.
The third thing is that the doubling of Koraput to Singapuram Road line is also lying in the back-burners and no progress has been made. All these three things are quite important.
In addition to this, we have multiple issues in the Koraput Constituency like road connections. There are no road connections at least in thousand villages of Rayagada district and 800 villages in Koraput district. This is so, even after the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is in place for a long time. Water is not provided to the villages. There are multiple issues which need to be highlighted in this House so as to make the development of Rayagada.
Lastly, I would like to say that the bypass road in NH-36 is the key demand for the people of Rayagada. The trucks and the heavy vehicles which are plying on the roads are leading to very many accidents in Rayagada. The bypass needs to be constructed with immediate attention.
