Section 6 in Jharkhand Building (Lease, Rent & Eviction) Control Act, 2011
6. Salami, fine or advance of more than one month's rent not to be claimed or received.
- It shall not be lawful for any person to claim or receive, in consideration of grant, renewal or continuation of a tenancy of any building, the payment of any salami, fine or any like sum in addition to the rent or payment of any sum exceeding one month's rent of such building as rent in advance.Provided that the payment of premium during tenancy of a building is permissible.
