Section 7(2) in The Chandernagore Municipal Corporation Act, 1990
(2)Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-section (1), except when an order of [dissolution] [Word substituted by West Bengal Act 36 of 1994 for 'supersession'.] has been made under the provisions of this Act, the Mayor or the Chairman, as the case may be, whose office becomes vacant by reason of the provisions of sub-section (1), shall continue to hold office as such until his successor, elected under the provisions of this Chapter, enters upon office.
