The petitioners, who are residents of village Mohi Kalan, Tehsil Rajpura, District Patiala, have approached this Court with a prayer that the complaint, filed by them in the form of an affidavit dated 11.5.2010 (Annexure P1), before the official respondents, be decided, in accordance with the provisions of law.

Ms. Ambika Luthra, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, appearing for respondents No. 1 to 4, has submitted that cognizance of the complaint has already been taken and the enquiry has been entrusted to the Divisional Deputy Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Patiala.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that since responentNo.5-Hardev Singh is an influential person, the enquiry report is likely to be delayed.

To allay this apprehension of learned counsel for the petitioners, the Enquiry Officer i.e. Divisional Deputy Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Patiala, is directed to conclude the enquiry, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

With the observations made above, the present writ petition is disposed of.
