Section 43(1) in The Jammu and Kashmir Excise Act, 1958 (1901 A. D.)
(1)An [Excise and Taxation Officer] [Substituted by Act VIII of 1956 for 'Customs and Excise Officer'.] holding any enquiry under this Act may examine orally any person supposed to be acquainted with the facts and the circumstances of the case.
