Sri V.K. Upadhyaya, Senior Advocate, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, submitted that the issue involved in the present writ petition relates to the competence of the State Legislature to levy any tax on mines and mineral, which includes coal. He further submitted that the apex Court is seized with similar matter and the hearing is likely to take place in the month of August, 2010 itself.
