Section 12(2)(c) in The Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University Act, 1986

(c)Notwithstanding anything contained in clauses (a) and (b) where a vacancy occurs in the office of the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall continue to hold his office till such vacancy is filled and on the vacancy being filled, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall cease to hold his office.
