Section 157(1) in The Bombay Land Revenue Code, 1879
(1)At any time after an arrear becomes due, the defaulter (not being an agriculturist from whom such arrear in respect of his occupancy is due) may be arrested and detained in custody for ten days in the office of the Collector or of a Mamlatdar unless the revenue dues together with the penalty or interest and the cost of arrest and of notice of demand, if any, and the cost of his subsistence during detention is sooner paid;Provided that no such arrest shall be made unless the default is wilful and the defaulter is given an opportunity to show cause against his arrest and detention.
