Section 31 in The Petroleum Concession Rules, 1949
31. Security deposit .-The applicant shall, before the licence is issued to him, deposit as security for due observance of the terms and conditions of the licence, a sum of Rs. 50 for each square mile or part thereof covered by the licence, subject to a minimum of Rs. 5,000 (rupees five thousand).
