ORDER
(1) Mrs.P.Vijayadevi, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 6. With the consent of the learned counsels on either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
(2) The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 5th respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 10.05.2024 within a stipulated time frame to be fixed by this Court.
(3) The petitioner filed an application on 10.05.2024 for conversion of his agricultural lands to housing site. The petitioner states that for the adjacent lands and contiguous property owned and possessed by the petitioner, the respondents had granted permission for conversion. The petitioner further states that for reasons best known to the respondents, the respondents have kept the aforesaid application pending for over one year. The petitioner was therefore, constrained to file the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

(5) In view of the limited prayer in the writ petition and considering that the petitioner's application is kept pending for more than one year, a direction is issued to the 5th respondent, to consider and pass orders on petitioner's application dated 10.05.2024, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
(6) The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
