Section 148(1) in Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964
(1)The Deputy Commissioner or a Survey Officer, when directed by a notification by the State Government, may determine what lands are included within the site of any village, town or city, and fix, and from time to time, vary the limits of the same, respect being had to all subsisting rights of land-holders.
