CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SHREE CHANDRASHEKHAR
For the Petitioner :M/s Ranjan Pd. Ram, Pyar Kumar
Advocates
For the Respondents: Mr. Atanu Banerjee, G.A.
04/02.09.2015A supplementary affidavit has been filed whereby, a copy of the residential certificate (employment purpose) dated 26.08.2015 issued by the Circle Officerrespondent no. 4 has been brought on record. The grievance of the petitioner is that similar certificate should have been issued by the Subdivisional Officer, Goddarespondent no. 3 also.
Mr. Atanu Banerjee, the learned G.A. appearing for the respondents submits that if the Subdivisional Officerrespondent no. 3 is authorized to issue such certificate and the petitioner makes an application he can be issued similar residential certificate(employment purpose).
From the materials on record, I do not find any prohibition to the Subdivisional Officer for not issuing residential certificate (employment purpose). The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for appointment on different posts, advertisements have been issued under which residential certificate (employment purpose) issued by the Subdivisional Officer only is considered for grant of reservation benefits.
Since, the Circle Officer has issued residential certificate dated 26.08.2015, necessary verification has already been done and, on that basis the Subdivisional Officer shall also issue a residential certificate (employment purpose) within a period of one week from the submission of application by the petitioner.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
