Section 17(2) in The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act, 1972
(2)to recommend to the State Government the curricula and detailed syllabi relating to secondary education [and higher secondary education] [These words inserted by Gujarat 14 of 2002, dated 6th April, 2002.] and to approve and to recommend to the State Government the text books prepared by the Gujarat State Board of School Text Books for the use in the registered schools;
