- (i) Offences punishable under the Indian Companies Act, 1956 (Act I of 1956), or under the Act with imprisonment for a term which does not exceed two years or with fine which does not exceed one thousand rupees may be tried in a summary way, (ii) An offence triable under section 45-J (2) of the Act jointly with the offences mentioned in this rule may also be tried summarily, provided that it is punishable with imprisonment for a term which does not exceed two years or with fine which does not exceed one thousand rupees.
