SHRIMATI APARUPA PODDAR (ARAMBAG): Sir, on the 76th Anniversary of Quit India Movement, my respectful homage to all those who took part in the freedom fight.
Students, especially the girls of SC/ST caste-dominated Bolondi area of my parliamentary constituency, have been succeeding consistently in education. Job opportunities, education and all-round development of the Scheduled Tribes have been done by the West Bengal Government. Today, we are celebrating the Adivasi Diwas in West Bengal. My Bolondi area is comprising of 50 villages and six SC/ST Panchayats. People are facing communication problem. After Independence, the then Railway Minister, hon. Mamata Banerjee connected rail to Arambag. Many times, survey has been done in the Bolondi area for providing a halt station but till today no work is in progress.
I urge the Government to provide for a halt station at Bolondi for the common citizens who are shedding their blood and sweat every day to see their children move for a good life. Thank you, Sir.
