(2)The Collector on receipt of a reference under sub-rule (1) shall fix a date and place for the hearing of the case and after giving an opportunity to the parties concerned of being heard and taking such evidence as they may produce decide the question on the basis of the survey maps and records prepared at the recent Record Operations and the forest maps, if any, maintained by the Forest Department.
