(1)This Act may be called the Roorkee University Act, 1947.(2)It shall come into force on such [dates] [The Act came into force on March 1, 1948 vide notification no. 310·TC/XXIII-21.TC/46, dated February 27, 1948 in Gazette, dated March 6, 1948, Part I. P. 160.] as the [State Government] [Substituted by A. O. 1950 for (Provincial Government).] may by notification in the official, Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
