Section 19(1) in The Merchant Shipping (Examination of Engine Drivers of Sea-Going Ships) Rules, 1973
(1)Every candidate shall produce testimonials in respect of his workshop service signed, in each case by the employer or his authorised representative, who shall testify the candidate's conduct and ability and state the kind of work on which he was engaged and the period spent in each branch.
