Section 89(1) in The Orissa Municipal Employees' Pension Rules, 1989
(1)Where the Chairman of the concerned Council has received an intimation regarding the death of a retired employee who was in receipt of pension, he shall ascertain whether any family pension is payable in respect of the deceased pensioner :Provided that the Chairman may, when he considers it necessary, so to do, consult the Director.
