Section 40 in The Village Chaukidari Act, 1870

40. Procedure on arrest by chaukidars.

- Whenever the chaukidar may arrest any person, such chaukidar shall forthwith take the person so arrested to the Police-Station within the limits of which such village is situate:Provided that, if the arrest is made at night such person shall be so taken as soon as convenient on the following morning.
