                     seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1 and 2 respondents to
                     forbear from treating the dogs shown in the dog shows conducted by the
                     petitioner as “Performing Animals” and thereby causing any disturbance,
                     obstruction, or disruption to the said shows.

                                                         ORDER

Despite service, the second respondent namely the Animal Welfare Board of India has not entered appearance.

2. The issue that is rasied in this Writ Petition is squarely covered by the decision of this Court in WP No.18941 of 2015 dated 21.06.2021 in The Chennai Kennel Club v. The Union of India, wherein this Court following the judgment of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Amritsar Kennel Club (Registered) and others v. The Union of India and others, had held that the second respondent namely Animal Welfare Board of India has no right to disturb conduct of Dog shows by Chennai Kennel Club on the ground that it amounts to Dogs being made Performing Animals. This Court has also held that Chennai Kennel Club hosting a dog show, is not required under any of the provisions of the Act or the Rules of 2001 or the 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.14940 of 2017 Birth Control Rules to get itself registered with the Animal Welfare Board of India.

3. In view of the said decision, the Writ Petition will stand allowed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
