Section 1 in The Water (Prevention And Control Of Pollution) Cess Act, 1977
1. Short title, extent, application and commencement .-(1) This Act may be called The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Cess Act, 1977.
(2)It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.(3)Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), it applies to all the States to which the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (6 of 1974) applies and the Union territories.(4)It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
