(4)[Every Tribunal shall, subject to the provisions of section 72-A,] [Substituted for 'Every Tribunal shall' by section 2(f) of the Tamil Nadu Inam Estates and Minor Inams (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Amendment Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 22 of 1975).] have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act V of 1908) when trying a suit or when hearing an appeal.Under section 72-A power is not given to the Tribunal or other functionaries under the Act to appoint Receivers or Commissioners in respect of proceedings before them.
