Section 1(b) in Tamil Nadu Cyclone Prone Area Special Building Rules, 1982
(b)They shall apply to the Municipalities, Townships and Town Panchayats to which Chapters IX and X of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920 (Tamil Nadu Act V of 1920) have been extended and lying within the distance of twenty kilometres from the coast in the districts of Chengalpattu, South Arcot, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumari.
