Section 8A in Tamil Nadu Municipal Service Rules, 1970
8A. [ Procedure for recruitment when a member of a service dies in harness. [Substituted by G.O. Ms. No. 470, RDLA, dated the 30th March 1982.] - Wherever the procedure of recruitment through the Employment Exchange is prescribed to any of the posts under the special rules, the same may be relaxed in favour of the spouse/sons/unmarried daughters who would take care of the family of a member of a service who dies in harness leaving the family in indigent circumstances, subject to the following conditions, namely: -
(1)that the candidate should possess all the prescribed qualifications for the post concerned;(2)that the normal procedure of recruitment through the Employment Exchange shall be waived by the appointing authority concerned; and(3)that all such cases shall be reported to the Government in the Rural Development and Local Administration [Department and Labour and Employment Department.]]
