Section 1 in The Collection of Statistics Act, 2008
1. Short title, extent and commencement.—
(1)This Act may be called the Collection of Statistics Act, 2008.(2)It extends to the whole of India :Provided that it shall apply to the State of Jammu and Kashmir in so far as it relates to statistics pertaining to matters falling under any of the entries specified in List I (Union List) or List III (Concurrent List) in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution as applicable to that State.(3)It shall come into force on such date2 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
